We had spent two years looking for the right property at the right price. We were looking for a difficult element in a difficult area and decided that we needed help. In their options appraisal, Midas managed to find other options and then pointed out problems - potential difficulties. This process helped us to procure funding as we could justify that the money would be properly spent. Midas negotiated a very favourable deal and were very supportive. The result of their work was that the property was properly secured. There is a lot of scope for a technically competent organisation who understands the needs of the voluntary sector. The brief to Midas was open as we did not want to plant ideas in their head beforehand. The issue was that we were not able to let the space we wanted to. Midas focused the agents effectively, and undertook a survey regarding long-term liability on surplus space. They raised awareness with the finance team, in the long term to release the property back to the landlord and in the short term to let it to tenants. It was certainly a valuable exercise for us.

Working with Midas was a very good experience. They helped us put a proposition to a landlord which gave them an opportunity to sell the site and for us to move out of the building. They also did a space analysis to predict the total square footage required. It was a very positive result. The landlord recently sold the site with us as a sitting tenant.
